Texas 96- Softball

Diamond Fellowship aims to follow our faith, foster a sense of family within our organization, enhance our community, develop healthy habits, and discover the passion and necessary skills for softball.

Ages

At this time our teams will be from 8U-14U

With growth up to 18U.

When

Fall Season will run from August-December

Spring Season will run from February-June.

Older teams may play through July.

Practices will be held at Jumbo Evans Sports Park

Practices

Practices will be twice a week for about 2-2.5 hours.

We are working on offering speed and agility once a week.

FCA will be twice a month.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many teams are you creating?

  • We will have a 8u, 10u, 12u and 14u divisions. Number of teams per division will be determined by number of players at tryouts.

What is your roster size per team?

  • Each team will have no more than 12 players.

How does the offer process work?

  • After tryouts, players will be notified on what team they will be on for the fall season. Once the player accepts they will be rostered to that team into our site so you can get the information for the season.
  • Coaches will meet with families to discuss where the coach sees them and where they could see them in the future.

How does Texas 96 support multi-sport athletes and how does it work?

  • At Texas 96 we promote multi-sport athletes and will work with families if players choose to do more than one sport in a season.
  • Communication is key for both the family, player and coaches.

Is there a pitching coach for lessons both off season and during the season?

  • We have several pitching coaches on our staff that we can set your player up with.
  • As we grow we will be able to have specific trainings for this.

Is there a catching coach for lessons both off season and during the season?

  • We have several catching coaches on our staff that we can set your player up with.
  • As we grow we will be able to have specific trainings for this.

Is there a designated hitting coach for lessons both off season and during the season?

  • We have several coaches on our staff that we can set your player up with.
  • As we grow we will be able to have specific trainings for this.

What are your attendance expectations?

  • Players should be at all practices, tournaments and offseason training, unless an in-season sport they play takes priority or school, health or family issues arise.

Are there Fundraising Opportunities?

  • Yes. We will have fundraiser opportunities.
  • We will discuss this during our parent meetings.

What is your travel like for tournaments?

  • We will have tournaments twice a month and will be in the San Antonio and surrounding areas (Seguin, San Marcos, Kerrville) We may choose to go to Round Rock and Georgetown.
  • If we think a team is ready to travel further we will discuss that with each team individually.
  • Our goal is to have 6 tournaments in the Fall and 8 tournaments in the Spring.
